hannah residence | living room:
Stone floors and cement pillars defined the living room when I first saw the house. It was empty, unfurnished, cold and barren. The previous owner wanted a sophisticated and elegant room, but she was adamant that it also be inviting and comfortable. The room needed to feel grand enough to entertain lavishly and yet intimate enough for her to feel comfortable when home alone.
Fabrics are used to create warmth and softness in this large living room. The walls are faux-painted in soft muted colors to enhance the texture of the space. Tall, hand-painted pieces of art are hung on either side of the fireplace and a sculpture of a beautiful young woman, by Los Angeles sculptor, Robert Graham, reigns from the center of the space, radiating her beauty throughout the lovely room.
hannah residence | dining room:
Stained glass windows, custom-made with a leaf motif, create an intimate dining atmosphere and create privacy from the neighbors. A simple chandelier hangs over the large plank table. The leaf motif is repeated in the wall mural and the tapestry fabric on the dining room chairs.
hannah residence | master bedroom:
An antique iron bed with its feminine curves is the focal point in the master bedroom. Beautiful drapery creates privacy and softness in the room. The antique cabinet in the corner houses items that the client bought in her travels and wanted to display.
hannah residence | breakfast room:
The skylight in this lovely room opens lets the morning sun shine through and the outside feeling is repeated by the floral fabrics on the windows and the chairs. The custom-designed floral rug is also inspired by the fabric.

Hannah Residence
Santa Monica Residence
This client came to me as soon as she bought this new house in Santa Monica. A single man had previously owned it and it was my challenge to turn the house into a woman's house, she being a single lady, vice president of a major international company. She wanted the house to reflect her femininity but not be overly girlie or “decorated”.
