venice loft | living room:
The first thing we did was to cover the concrete floor with a maple wood floor. We then added an area rug to define the living room area from the rest of the space. We loved the red structural “I” beam and used a red accent in the room to coordinate with it. The doctor wanted black leather seating and dark wood cabinetry.
venice loft | dining room:
We incorporated the dining area under the air conditioning cage, as that seemed to be a perfect corner for a dinner party. We used the structure of the cage to hang an oversized light fixture to help define and delineate the space, a necessity in loft living.
venice loft | kitchen:
The original kitchen didn’t have enough storage space, which is always a big problem when dealing with a loft. We added additional cabinets over the cooking area and incorporated a tall cabinet on the leaning exterior wall to display beautiful glassware and a wine collection.
venice loft | powder bedroom:
To make this an exciting space we used rough textured slate tiles on the walls combined with stainless steel detailing. The room has a masculine feel but within a contemporary context.
venice loft | master bedroom:
Being an open space it was imperative that the bed be low profile and not take over the room. The room remained sparse, but spacious and useful.
